Marvel Animation’s long-anticipated Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will be here in mere weeks, and Disney+ has released a trailer giving us more details on what’s in store for this new on-screen version of Peter Parker.

The tagline for the series, which merely says that we follow “Peter Parker on his way to becoming a hero, with a journey unlike we’ve ever seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots,” doesn’t tell us much. The trailer, at least, hints at this Peter’s origin story; it also reveals that he gets a suit (courtesy of Norman Osborn) that Spidey video game fans will recognize: the Advanced Suit, aka the White Suit. In the games, this suit is the primary one for Marvel’s Spider-Man, and is also an option in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. How the suit will work out for Peter in the animated series, however, remains to be seen.

What we do know is that that show features Hudson Thames as the voice of Petey/Spider-Man and Colman Domingo as Norman Osborne. Eugene Byrd, Grace Song, Zeno Robinson, and Hugh Dancy also star, and Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio will be giving voice to animated versions of their Marvel Cinematic Universe characters, Daredevil and Kingpin. The head writer on the series is Jeff Trammell, and the supervising director is Mel Zwyer.

The ten-episode first season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man starts streaming on Disney+ on January 29, 2025.
